Invites Applications for Ph.D. Programme of Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR) January 2014 Session
The National Geophysical Research Institute is a premier research institute of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), invites applications for Ph.D Programme under Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR) from eligible candidates.
Eligibility: Ph.D. (Science): A Master's degree in Physical Sciences preferably Geophysics, Geology, Physics and Mathematics with exceptionally good academic record and having a valid National level fellowship (JRF/SRF of various funding agencies, e.g. CSIR, UGC, DST etc.), INSPIRE or other equivalent fellowships.

The Ph.D programme admits students in two semester's i.e in Fall and Spring beginning respectively from August and January.
Eligibility:
Candidates should have M.Sc/M.Sc Tech/M.Tech degree with first class in any branch of physical sciences (i.e. Geosciences, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) and have qualified CSIRUGC (NET) examination for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). The recipients of scholarships from various funding agencies including DST INSPIRE programme can also apply. Project Assistants working in CSIR Laboratories having a minimum one year research experience are also eligible.
Prospective applicants should watch for notifications in the leading news papers of India and the websites of NGRI and CSIR.
Applications should be submitted online using the link (http://acsir.res.in) or any other link specified in the notification. The project Assistant of CSIR laboratories will also have to submit their research objectives and recommendation of the respective project leader directly to Coordinator AcSIR (CSIR‐NGRI) at acsir@ngri.res.in or tiwari_rk@ngri.res.in. The coordinator may also be contacted at Tel.040‐23434624, 23434648, 23434693, Fax 040‐ 23434651. The Last date for the submission of the application form will be provided in the notification.
Selection will be through an interview of the shortlisted candidates. No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates for appearing in the interview.
Note: CSIR Scientists recruited 2009 onwards/ Assistants (working at CSIR labs for a minimum of one year) who fulfil the qualifications are also eligible to apply.
